Abstract

Connecting rod is one of the most
important parts in automotive engine.
Connecting rod is the link between piston
and crank shaft and it is responsible for the
to and fro motion of piston, which it
converts reciprocating motion of piston
into rotary motion of crank shaft. High
compressive and tensile loads due to
combustion are applied on connecting rod,
it fails during operation of engine is in
critical situation. So, the connecting able
to with stand and transmits power
smoothly.
Connecting rod in automotive should be
light in weight and consumes less fuel at
the same time it should balance the system
in 1 high power ratios. When the
connecting rod has more weight it
consumes more fuel and it takes more time
to take a movement. The main objective of
this project is to design and analyze the
CONNECTING ROD with light weight
and good material which can resists the
loads by using Creo Parametric 2.0 and
analyze by using simulation tool.
