Abstract
The following article deals with the theoretical problems related to the specification of corpus linguistics. In order to gain the exact data regarding the above-mentioned issue, the differences between the corpus linguistics and the spheres, which are absolutely close to it, have been clarified. For example, mathematical linguistics, quantitative linguistics, applied linguistics and computational linguistics are compared with the corpus linguistics in terms of their object and subject including the scientific problems they deal with.
