Abstract
The article deals with the problems of comparative study and recommendations for the translation of proverbs, sayings and phrases into German and Uzbek languages, their influence on each other. Since the semantic and stylistic functions of words that have the same material meaning in different languages differ from each other, and since such phrases differ in different languages, methods for developing students' skills in using proverbs, sayings and phrases are discussed in language practice.
